  • Fill out the visa application form and other documents.

  • Submit the documents to the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate.
  • Wait until you get your documents approved from the Directorate General of Immigration.
  • After approval, you will be informed about other requirements if needed.
  • You can then pay the fee and the processing will begin.

 

Indonesia Visa Types

These are classified based on various parameters which include - the number of entries permitted, the stay and the validity permitted, the purpose of the visit, etc. The classification of the visas given below is based on the length of the stay.

Short Term:
These are the types that are issued for a short period of time which ranges between 30 to 60 days. These can be issued on arrival and generally permit single entry. When issued on arrival, it is called a Visa Exemption. Indonesia tourist visa and Indonesia business visa fall under this category. The business visa is also allowed multiple entries.
Long term:
These are the visas that are issued to students, employees, residents and businessmen at times. The validity of these visas starts from 6 months and can go up to a few years. Also, these are generally multiple-entry visas. Indonesia work visa will fall under this category.

 

Checklist for Indonesia Visa

There are different kinds of requirements for Indonesia visa as per the type. The common Indonesia visa requirements for Indian citizens are as follows:

Visa on arrival

  • An original passport valid for at least 6 months ahead of the date of travel.
  • Confirmed flight tickets
  • Proof of sufficient funds - foreign exchange, credit card, travellers cheque, or any other equivalent document. (scanned copies)

Visa prior to arrival

  • An original passport valid for at least 6 months ahead of the date of travel.
  • Coloured photographs as per the photo specifications
  • A cover letter with all the required details
  • Confirmed flight tickets
  • Proof of accommodation - invitation letter, hotel reservation, etc. (scanned copies)
  • Proof of purpose of visit - invitation letter, exhibition or conference pass, etc. (scanned copies)
  • Proof of sufficient funds - bank statement or any other equivalent document. (scanned copies)

 

Indonesia Visa Photo Specifications

  • Two copies must be provided
  • Indonesia visa photo size: 35mm x 45 mm.
  • Coloured copy must be provided.
  • The face must cover about 70-80% of the frame.
  • Head should well-centred.
  • A gap of 2mm to 6mm must be kept between the top of the head and the frame.
  • The picture must not be older than 6 months.
  • The background must be white
  • Neutral expressions
  • Glasses are not permitted.
  • Headgears are not allowed except for religious reasons.
  • Clothing shouldn’t match the background.
